Portable PowerShell

Portable PowerShell is a product from ShellTools that is in early Beta stages. We have been working on and off for this for 2 years, and have rewritten it about 6 times trying to find the right technique that will work not only when there is no powershell on your machine, but when there already an installed PowerShell. It gives you the ability to run Portable PowerShell V1, and Portable PowerShell V2 side by side with an existing PowerShell as well.

• Working on Server 2003 R2 (in most cases)
• Working with Server 2008 R2
• Work with CLIENT REMOTING (Yay)
• Working when there is no powershell installed
• Working when there is existing PowerShell
• Portable V1 and Portable V2 (and installed PowerShell) running side by side
• Working on 32 Bit Operating Systems
• Working as 32 Bit process on 64 bit operating systems
• Working under a standard user account in windows 7
• More to do with modules and snapins but not documented yet.
• commandline options working
• V2 Remoting client working.
• Consolidating V1/V2 32 bit and 64bit into one distribution. Different ICONS to differentiate.
• Simplified the Launching app process.

Following is the Beta roadmap.

• Flexibility in dealing with profiles (implemented needing to be documented)
• enabling Portable PowerShell specific command line options

• Integrated Help.

• Include a pretty GUI launcher.
• Include a settings editor to change the settings that can be changed.

 The Wizard Based "maker" version and non english versions have been moved to Version 2 and not part of the scope of version 1 as previous planned.
